Meghalayan age limited
The Meghalayan Age Limited (MAL) is a State Govt. company under the aegis of the Planning Department, which has been incorporated under Section 2 (45) of the Companies Act, 2013.
The company has been named so as to create awareness and benefit from the name accorded to the current geological age that we live in. It is called ‘The Meghalayan Age’, the onset of which about 4,200 years ago was marked by a mega-drought that crushed a number of civilisations worldwide. The evidence for the same was first recorded in the Mawmluh cave located in Sohra (Cherrapunjee) in Meghalaya.
MAL works in collaboration with the Tourism Department, the Planning Department, the PWD, the Soil and Water Conservation Department and other stakeholders on projects related to the holistic development of tourism.
