The Second edition of “Then Is Now: Music & Memories” featured a celebration of music through numerous facets that commemorates the essence and rhythms of the people.

As we take delight in the celebration of music, this handpicked experience exhibited an exemplary showcase of music and history through an intricate instrument making demonstration by Rani Maring; the book release of Anurag Banerjee’s The Songs of Our People; going through the archival presentation by Kyntiewbor War on the cultural history of the Garo community; a soulful musical performance by Katta Nisa and lastly, an enriching panel discussion on the music and memories moderated by Ridahunlang Gatphoh, Designer and Musician.

ABOUT THE BOOK 

The Songs Of Our People explores the lives of musicians from Meghalaya, focusing on themes of identity, belonging, and connection to one's roots. After years of living in Bombay, Anurag realized that he couldn’t call a place home without understanding its people and their stories. The book captures the passion of local artists while also addressing themes like grief, love, culture, and tradition. Featuring a mix of well-known and lesser-known talents, it includes a playlist and a pull-out poster to complement the experience.
